Summit Woodworking started in 2023 when I left my corporate job to satisfy a creative itch and a growing passion.

It all started with a bet. I bet my wife that I could design and build a better piece of furniture than what we saw at the big box stores - a piece made out of real hardwood, not plywood with a hardwood veneer.

What started in our garage with hand tools and stubborn determination quickly turned into a passion, an obsession, and now a personal mission.

Today’s mass furniture market is saturated with poorly constructed plywood furniture being marketed and masqueraded as “solid wood”. As consumers, we are inundated with flat-packed designs that prioritize shipping efficiency over durability. Most of today’s furniture is made from cheap materials that are meant to be replaced instead of repaired coated with toxic films that are not safe for our homes or the environment.

Pieces that were once built for generations are now built for a few moves, a few years, or even a single season. Summit Woodworking is about pushing back against wasteful production of “disposable” furniture with quality and timeless pieces that are built to last.

I’ve made it my goal to make custom high-end furniture approachable for everyone with a vision. My work is meant to earn its place in your home and in your family’s lives through thoughtful design, high quality materials, refined yet durable construction, and finishes that can easily be repaired instead of just replaced.
